This painting embraces the riot of Spring in North Texas that coalesces in a glorious symphony for the heart and eyes.
The wildflowers are among my favorite things in the entire world. I search them out in my travels. Sometimes they are new and sometimes I am surprised by their familiarity. Growing in hard, hard places, the impossibility of beauty in harsh circumstances gives a character to the landscape and the people who thrive in and through the midst of difficulty
Spring Symphony celebrates the discovery of the extraordinary in the midst of the ordinary. Sometimes we are standing on holy ground and when we look down we only see the dirt. Sometimes we see the miracle of it all.
The theme I am working with for 2019 deals with the myriad of choices that coalesce to create a life. Each mark, like those thousands of daily decisions, seems mundane and insignificant in the making and yet when we step back and look at the big picture the ordinary reveals itself as extraordinary.
