This is one of my favorite paintings.  Inspired by a horseback ride around Benbrook Lake as the greens had given way to gold and red and the air was still warm.   Riding allows for slow personal encounters with nature.  These paintings are a rendering of the experience rather than a rendering of a particular  landscapre..

Spring and Fall in Texas are magical seasons.   Summer has a magic of its own, but we won't speak of it here.
