Moon Shadows 36 x 36" watercolor on canvas framed
Moon Shadows is interesting that it takes on the tone of the room. I've included two full size images (one is in the details) taken in different lighting. The warmth of the light in the room will influence the painting. The light influences all artwork, but this one seems to do so more than others. It is the clariy of the white background.
A friend and her daughter over for tea and cookies in my studio as we crawled back from pandemic isolation and it was even more delightful than I remembered.
As they drove away I knew it was the beginning of a new season and a new series. Maybe not a new series as an expansion of the Marking Time series.
These paintings, the Ritual series, explore the depth of a singular moment. A reminder of the infinite details of simple things. Friends, a cuppa, reading, radio, walking, the little things that, when we remember, allow us to pause, come into our senses, and experience now.
