I love this painting. It hangs in my studio. It was a pivotal painting for me. It began as a very prim and proper painting of a delicate white orchid with beautiful green leaves. My youngest LOVED the painting and asked for it. Of course I said yes, but it needed a little something. Ah, YES! A little cadmium red was just what it needed.
To say the painting had a mind of its own and got away from me might be an understatement. My daughter cried. I, on the other hand, LOVED IT! A new door opened and I ran through. This is a painting of new beginnings and explorations.
