BLM Paintings: 30 x 22 Watercolor on Paper
The BLM series - Supporting the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI.org)
The Equal Justice Initiative has been fighting for justice since 1989. Fighting in court, through the arts, and with public education via two museums in Montgomery, Alabama; the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration. The purchase price of each BLM painting will be donated to the Equal Justice Initiative. You select the price: $200, $250, $300. Through sales of the Rose Portraits and the BLM series, my goal is to raise $8500+ for EJI.
Birthed from chaos and racial unrest around the world in the midst of a global pandemic, the BLM series begins with 25 full sheet watercolor paintings exploring color and color relationships while the world explores color and color relationships amongst human beings. "There are no black people in Africa. There are only people." I paint and pray for the end of White Supremacy, the end of racial caste, the end of tearing another down to lift up oneself. As I paint I pray that we finally respect and celebrate our differences and our similarities. These 25 paintings are the beginning. Please join me in raising up hope and action by raising up EJI.
